Final proposal: Bill "Bojangles" Robinson was born in historic Jackson Ward. All Richmond city government records about Robinson's birthday were destroyed in 1885. We feel that it would be an honor to be able to name this intimate jazz club environment as 'Bill "Bojangles" Robinson Memorial Auditorium'. We believe it will inspire audiences through the association with his energetic and attractive stage personality: "Everything is copacetic.". |
