Early ideas: Jazz is an international language and can provide communication for all walks of life, and we chose this language to influence our design efforts. Our Jazz district concept from the very beginning included a Jazz hotel and Jazz club. Other elements, including the Historic movie theater and 4-screen movie theater along 2nd street, and the big 'mixed-use' area with restaurants/retail/offices, were planned to complete the picture of the amazing place in Richmond that now simply labeled on city maps as "ABCDE" blocks. |
