Neighbourhood:
The main idea of this concept was to build a smooth bridge between the Convention Center, the Biotech Complex, and Historical Jackson Ward. Thus, this design phase, E block building, can be considered as an "unfinished" or rather "unlimited" element establishing the scope of traditional urban dwelling fabric for the Second Phase adjacent and related blocks. We provided this bridge by creating gradual changes in mass in the direction from the Convention Center towards First Street. We carried forward the theme by using the Jazz Club with auditorium as the foremost element of the complex, and by planning strictly local commercial and residential building in traditional Jackson Ward style in the E block.

Jazz is an international language and can provide communication for all walks of life, and we chose this language to influence our design efforts.
